My favorite picture is the second one where they look like they are swimming in a circle. During the earlier in the day observation, I saw two Hooded Mergansers fly up into the trees. This is the first time I've seen this and after a little reading I found that these ducks nest in tree cavities so the behavior is not a strange one.

Hooded Merganser
Along with the Common Mergansers from yesterday's post, were a bunch of Hooded Merganser. They stayed in a tight group, so I was able to put a tree between us and get about 40 feet closer.

Beautiful. This is one duck I have not seen and hope to change that this year.

That second picture reminded me of a square dance.
Do-si-do!
What fun to see open water and the birds enjoying it!
Another species I've never seen although there is one in UK at the moment. I see your 'hide and seek' method is working well.
Happy Easter & thanks for the 'Eggs'. FAB.
