Comparison Pictures 7

I hope you all have not gotten tired of all the comparison pictures but since so many seemed to like them, I decided to do a few more. Another reason for this series of blogs is because I've kind of hit a low time in blogging. Like the trees right now, I feel kind of threadbare.

For today, my comparison pictures are not side-by-side but rather in a series of progressions. I went back and revisited my Northern Cardinal files and noticed that I had a lot of pictures of young birds growing up and changing into adults. In Cardinals, that progression can be noticed quite nicely in the coloration of the beak as it changes from black of the juvenile to bright orange of the adult. So I give you "black to orange".

Great series of photos, Richard! You'll have me looking at Cardinals in a whole new way next summer!

This is a terrific series of photos. I'll be revisiting it when I get home from work. Hang in there on the blogging low. I'm there too right now. Lots of distractions and not much blogworthy going on. Recharge your batteries, or take a break if you feel like it. We'll still be checking in.
